General Lesson Summary

  • Lesson 29: Health, Illness, & Emergency Vocabulary

This lesson introduces vocabulary and concepts in Igbo related to health, illness, and emergency situations. The goal is to help learners identify and understand key terms needed to talk about well-being, common ailments, and urgent scenarios.

The lesson is organized into three main vocabulary categories:

  1. Health and well-being – covering terms for staying healthy, fitness, and self-care.

  2. Illness – including words for common sicknesses and physical discomforts.

  3. Emergency – introducing terms related to accidents, injuries, medical care, and urgent assistance.

Learners are prompted to reflect on words they already know about health and emergencies, and a practice exercise encourages them to apply the vocabulary in a realistic situation.

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to recognize and use Igbo terms for describing health issues, seeking help, and discussing emergencies.
